Five Reasons to Buy an Acura in Louisville, KY

Honda is one of the most well-known auto brands, with models like the Accord and CR-V named among the top 10 most popular vehicles to drive by J.D. Power. But many people may not know that Acura, Honda’s luxury brand, is just as beloved, and for good reason. It has received countless awards since its debut in 1986 as the first Japanese luxury car brand in the U.S.

Today, Acura’s lineup includes six models which carry the same reputation for quality and safety as Honda vehicles but with upgraded features that set them apart. Here are five reasons to consider buying an Acura.

Lower Price Than Comparable Vehicles

Brands like Audi, BMW and Mercedes may come to mind when you think of luxury vehicles, but they also come with hefty price tags. For example, the 2018 BMW X3 crossover starts at over $43,000, while the comparable Acura RDX starts at just $36,000.

The RDX comes with a slew of standard features, such as dual-zone climate control, multi-view rearview camera and Pandora internet radio. Other luxury brands often make these optional add-ons for which they charge an additional cost.

Performance and Handling

Louisville residents are no strangers to inclement weather – the city picks up about 46 inches of rain and 9 inches of snow annually. Fortunately, Acura vehicles are well-equipped to handle wet, slippery roads.

The company’s Super Handling All-Wheel Drive™ is available on the RLX, TLX and MDX. The drive system strategically distributes power among the wheels for superior performance gain.
Even Acura’s front-wheel drive vehicles can easily handle challenging roads. The automaker’s Precision All-Wheel Steer™ system adjusts the rear wheel toe angles independently for increased agility and stability.

Reliability

Honda has long been known as a reliable auto brand, with Consumer Reports naming the Accord, Civic and CR-V among the most likely to make it to 200,000 miles and beyond.

It makes sense then that Acura is also considered reliable. The TLX has received a 5.0 rating from Repair Pal, making it second out of 31 luxury midsize models for reliability. The average annual repair cost is $428 – much lower than the $762 average for other comparable cars and $631 for all vehicles.

Safety Features

Acura is committed to safety, which shows in their vehicle’s available features, many of which are standard across all trim levels.

The Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS) can alert you to obstacles detected on the road ahead. Using radar and a camera, it provides visual alerts of a possible crash. If you do not react in time it can automatically brake for you.

The Blind Spot Information System (BSI) includes indicators and beeps to warn you of passing vehicles that you may not see in your mirrors.

Acura also uses Advanced Capability Engineering™ (ACE™) to distribute crash energy more evenly throughout the front of the vehicle. This reduces the forces transferred to the passenger compartment, better-protecting everyone inside the vehicle than traditional engineering.

Warranty

Acura’s four-year/50,000-mile limited warranty is similar to most rivals but its six-year/70,000-mile powertrain warranty is best in its class. Acura also offers five years of corrosion protection and four years or 50,000 miles of roadside assistance.

How Subaru Driver Assist Technology Keeps You Safer

Subaru EyeSight® Driver Assist Technology: How Subarus Can Keep You Safer On The Road Subaru has long been a leader in car safety systems, particularly those that allow the driver and passengers to be safer in a collision. Today most car buyers take crumple zones, safety belts, airbags and anti-lock brakes for granted, but overall safety features of a car are still a priority for most people. However, the focus is now shifting from what happens during and after an accident to preventing accidents from happening in the first place. According to a Consumer Reports article, in a national survey of U.S. drivers that plan to buy a new or used vehicle in the next two years, 51% said it was very important for their next car to have a rearview camera or backup warning , and 45% said they wanted a blind-spot warning system . It’s clear that these types of preventative safety measures are an important factor in new car purchases. Subaru’s latest driver safety systems go well bey...
